Domain & Professional Email

Your domain and email, set up right — the first time.

Stop losing emails to spam and start building trust with a professional address that matches your brand.

The Basics

Not sure what any of this means?

Let me break it down.

What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is your website's address on the internet — the thing people type in to find you. Instead of a long, confusing string of random characters, a domain makes your site easy to remember and easy to find.

It's also searchable! Using the right keywords in your domain can help push your site to the top of search results.

e.g. coachingwithcatelyn.com
instead of
coachingwithcatelyn.systeme.io/home

What is a Professional Email?

A professional email is a paid business email tied to your domain — so instead of a generic Gmail or Hotmail address, your email looks polished and on-brand.

It builds trust with your audience and is essential for email deliverability. Free email addresses significantly increase the risk of your emails landing in spam.

e.g. contact@yourbusiness.com

Why It Matters

Email compliance is stricter than ever —
and it affects every business owner.

What started as new guidelines has become full-scale enforcement across every major provider. While some email platforms have workarounds, using a free address significantly increases the risk of your emails landing in spam — or being blocked entirely. A professional email is the safest, most reliable way to protect your deliverability.

What's changed

  • Google now actively rejects non-compliant emails, not just filters them to spam
  • Microsoft joined in — Outlook, Hotmail & Live now enforce the same rules
  • Spam complaint rates should ideally stay below 0.10% — not just under 0.3%
  • Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft & Apple now collectively cover ~90% of all email users

What's required in 2026

  • 1 Send emails from a custom domain for best deliverability
  • 2 Set up SPF and DKIM authentication for your domain
  • 3 Set up DMARC records — best practice is now p=reject for full protection
  • 4 Include a visible one-click unsubscribe — requests must be honored within 48 hours
  • 5 Keep spam complaints below 0.3% (aim for under 0.1%)

The Service

Here's exactly what I do for you.

Domain & Email Connection

After you purchase your domain and/or professional email address, I take care of all the technical setup. I add all the necessary DNS settings to connect your domain and email host to your email platform — keeping you fully compliant with current email deliverability guidelines.

I also set up permanent masking and forwarding so that whether someone types your domain with or without "www." they'll always land on your website.

💡 I recommend purchasing your domain and professional email from GoDaddy — it's straightforward, reliable, and easy to manage. Other options include Namecheap, Squarespace, and Bluehost.

FAQ

Common questions, honest answers.

Do I need to purchase the domain before booking?
Yes — you'll need to purchase your domain and/or professional email address first, then book my service to handle the technical DNS setup. After payment you'll be asked to provide the details I need to get started.
Where should I buy my domain and email?
I recommend GoDaddy — it's reliable, easy to navigate, and makes it simple to add a professional email at the same time as your domain. Other options include Namecheap, Squarespace, and Bluehost.
Why can't I just use Gmail or Outlook?
Since the 2024 email deliverability changes, free email addresses like Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo have a significantly lower inbox delivery rate — meaning your emails are far more likely to land in spam. For anyone doing email marketing, this can seriously hurt your business.
What does DNS setup actually mean?
DNS (Domain Name System) records are the behind-the-scenes settings that tell the internet where to send traffic for your domain. I handle all of this for you — including DKIM, SPF, and DMARC records — so you don't have to figure it out yourself.
How long does the setup take?
Most setups are completed within 1–3 business days once I have all the information I need from you.
What if I already have a domain but need help with email?
No problem! Just select the "Professional Email Only" option and I'll handle the setup using your existing domain.
